The time has finally come for Alan Wake to join Behaviour Interactive’s Dead by Daylight in The Fog. As part of Tome 18: Revision, Alan Wake becomes the newest Survivor in the asymmetrical multiplayer game.
By now, you are aware of the story: best-selling novelist Alan Wake is experiencing writer’s block. His visit to Bright Falls was meant to help him decompress, but instead it started a terrifying series of events that resulted in his abduction and confinement in the enigmatic Dark Place. This time, as he struggled to write his way out of the Dark Place and toward freedom, he was reminded of a story he had written for Night Springs about an evil location covered in mist.
He traded one Dark Place for another as he was absorbed by The Entity’s Ream and the Dead by Daylight, and those memories quickly formed reality.
“We’re ecstatic that Alan Wake will be joining The Fog as a Survivor at last,” Behaviour Interactive’s Head of Partnerships Mathieu Coté comments. We’ve always known that Alan was a perfect fit for the Dead by Daylight setting. Our two games are celebrations of the horror icons that came before them, and they both take influence from one other.
Players’ reactions to his new nightmare will be interesting to watch—Alan never seems to be able to get a break.Alan is fortunate to have a few wits about him that will enable him get by. As previously mentioned, Alan is equipped with three special Perks: Deadline, Boon: Illumination, and Champion of Light.
While Alan may make a Boon Totem using Champion of Light, which gives players extra movement speed while flashing a flashlight, Boon: Illumination lets all adjacent Survivors to view the Auras of Generators and Chests across the map.
Last but not least, when healing survivors or repairing generators, Deadline—which triggers when you’re injured—increases the frequency of skill checks.
Additionally, Tome 18 evokes fresh memories for The Deathslinger, Alan Wake, and the House of Arkham. Characters may be unlocked with Charms, Outfits, and more by moving through the Rift and accomplishing new gameplay challenges.
These possibilities include the Alan’s Darker Side Outfit available on the Premium Pass and the ability to customize Player Cards for Alan Wake.
Speaking of clothes, there are many of them in the new DLC. In the Alan Wake Classic (Very Rare) Outfit, Alan has a beaten head, short hair, and a blazer/hoodie combo. This reminds me of the original Alan Wake game.
Alan may have a more carefree appearance with the Bright Falls (Very Rare) Outfit, which fits him in a checkered shirt and casual blue pants.Last but not least, he will be joined in The Fog by two beloved characters from the Alan Wake series in Legendary Outfits.
There are outfits available for Rose Marigold (Legendary) and Saga Anderson (Legendary), who play the Oh Deer Diner waitress and the gifted FBI agent, respectively.
The Bright Falls and Rose Marigold Outfits will be released on February 6, while the Alan Wake Classic and Saga Anderson Outfits are available right now.If none of that is sufficient, Behaviour Interactive will be offering a limited-time event called Lights Out to fans next month.
Modifiers are entirely new additions to the Trial format that provide players with an intriguing and distinctive experience. This time, the event—which launches on February 7—comes with a brand-new modification called Lights Out, which completely darkens the area. Not a loadout. Not a Radius of Fear. Not a single scratch mark.
The Lights Out Modifier will be accessible from 8:00 a.m. PST / 11:00 a.m. EST on February 7 through 8:00 a.m. PST / 11:00 a.m. EST on February 14.
