While Linda Hamilton is loving her role as General Eleanor McCallister on Resident Alien, she is unexpectedly facing a problem on the Syfy series.
“I feel like a miserable failure because there’s so much amazing humor all around me in every scene I do.” That show has some really talented comedians. The ladies are excellent. I am also the “straight man.” In a Us Weekly exclusive interview, Hamilton, 67, made a joke.
“I’m not allowed to reveal anything, but I’ll get a scene. However, I’ll think, “Oh, this is funny.” “I can truly accomplish this with that line, and I’ll work it and work it,” she remembered. When I get at the set, they tell me to stop doing it the way I’m doing it. The straight man is me. That’s what I do. Everyone, that is, is really humorous, but not me. Someone needs to handle the task.

Being on his team is more difficult than not being on it, Hamilton jokingly said. Working with Harry doesn’t always make her life any simpler. Thus, I’m glad that we share the same viewpoint. Although we are very similar, Harry has secrets.
“It’s a good thing that Harry and the general have very different realities,” she continued. It’s all built up there in our characters, so I don’t really need to meet [together] with Alan to make [those onscreen] judgments. However, it’s actually more of a general attempt to stay up with Harry. She needs him, and Harry will always find a way to ruin things that appear to be going one way.
